President John Dramani Mahama will, this morning, kick off a two-day #ResettingGhana tour of the Savannah region.
His first stop will be in Sawla, where he will launch the National BSTEM initiative for basic schools. He will then proceed on inspection tours of the ongoing Sawla–Wa highway project and the rehabilitation of the Bole–Tinga road under the Big Push Programme.
On the first day of the visit, President Mahama will also cut sod for the Bole District 24-hour economy model market, inspect development projects at the Bole College of Education, and inaugurate the Mahama ICT Centre at Damango, the regional capital.
He is also expected to commission additional education-related projects during the working visit.
As part of the tour, the President will pay courtesy calls on traditional authorities, including the Yagbonwura.
On Saturday, May 23, 2025, President Mahama, accompanied by key sector Ministers— including those responsible for Roads and Highways, Education, and Youth Development and Empowerment—along with other senior government officials, will engage the people of the Savannah region directly. The engagement will highlight the President’s achievements, ongoing policy interventions, and provide opportunities for citizens to share feedback and raise concerns about the impact of government policies.
The citizens’ engagement, to be held at the Ndewura Jakpa SHS Assembly and Dining Hall, will also give the Regional Minister the chance to outline development projects across the seven districts and other initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods.
The President is further expected to conduct a site inspection of the proposed Savannah Regional Hospital before bringing the tour to a close.
